Can I open another patient's chart while I'm recording or on a call?

Yes. When using Medulla in your EMR, you can open another patient’s chart without stopping your recording or phone call.

A movable bar at the top of your EMR pages shows whose visit is in progress. Use it to pause, finish, or discard the recording, or manage the call. You can drag the bar to reposition it.

Where will my note appear?

Your note stays linked to the patient you started the session with and can only be added to that patient’s chart.

If you finish the visit while another patient’s chart is open, Medulla tells you whose note is being generated.

Return to the original patient’s chart and open Medulla to view the note once it’s ready.

Note: Closing the EMR or signing out ends the visit and generates the note.
